Muscat Tours & Tickets

City sights, boat trips and day trips into the wadis, mountains and desert — compared, priced and bookable in a couple of taps.

Muscat’s sights are spread along fifty kilometres of coast, public transport is thin and the best of Oman lies one to three hours outside the city. That makes tours unusually good value here: a guide and a driver turn a logistical puzzle into an easy day.

Everything below is booked through GetYourGuide, which means live availability, free cancellation on most options and reserve-now-pay-later on many. Prices are indicative "from" starting points in euros and change with the season — tap any card for the live price in your own currency.

Booking questions

Frequently asked questions

Which Muscat tour is the best value?

The Wadi Shab and Bimmah Sinkhole day trip, from around €35 with thousands of reviews at 4.8, is the standout. In town, the budget half-day city tour covers the Grand Mosque, Opera House, Old Muscat and Mutrah Souq for a similar price.

Are Muscat tours suitable for cruise passengers?

Yes. Ships dock at Port Sultan Qaboos in Mutrah, and the half-day city tours fit comfortably into a port call. Check that pickup from the port is offered, allow a buffer before all-aboard, and remember that the Grand Mosque admits visitors only in the morning and is closed to tourists on Fridays.

Can I visit the Grand Mosque on a tour?

Almost every city tour starts there, because non-Muslim visiting hours are in the morning only (currently around 08:00–11:00, Saturday to Thursday). The mosque is free; tours include transport and a guide who explains what you are seeing.

What should I bring on a wadi or boat trip?

Swimwear worn under modest clothes, a towel, water shoes or sandals with grip, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat and plenty of water. For Wadi Shab a dry bag is useful: you swim the last section to the cave.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

Most listings offer free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, and many let you reserve now and pay later. Boat trips can be cancelled by the operator in rough seas, in which case you are refunded or rebooked. The exact terms are shown on each tour page.
